architecture &
the thrill of flying.

I can imagine the days
when men and women
would dress in their
finest to catch
a plane

now, it's a lot of
velour pants and
awkward security
pat downs.

just a thought.

Totally agree. Bring back the chic cabin crew uniforms, Sweet architecture and class to flying. Maybe it'll happen with the rise in fuel costs and ever more expensive flight costs. While were at it lets bring back travel by blimp, a truely beautiful mode of transport.

Love the photos. In 1962 finery dressing was soon to be pushed aside in the oncoming rush of the swinging 60's and Carnaby Street.Twiggy-like air hostesses with fluttering false eyelashes and lashes of eye-liner. I remember.

that's why my husband and i have taken to bringing that glamour back when we fly: we dress up smart-like!

great photos... it's unfortunate how flying has become anything but leisurely nowadays!

Style-related thought whenever I go to the airport: "I really don't want flight prices to go down!"

beautiful pictures!

I love this post. I have a photo I took "in Alaska" from a plane. It was so silly, but it makes me happy every time I look at it.

And those vintage photos... love 'em!
