Small world - I too know the Blasens and loved the Big Sur landscape featured in House & Garden in 2006 - amazing use of subtle colors that mirror the actual environments themselves.

your work is beautiful. i spent my summers having barbecues at stinson beach so it's definitely one of my favorite places as well.

I enjoyed your article about the landscape architecture of the Stinson Beach home. Some said they love the look of coastal barns. We are originally from Marin County, but now live in Ireland in an oceanfront retreat with two homes. The smaller home is a converted stone fishterman's cottage. The larger is a post&beam building built in the style of a medieval barn, with slate walls, and windows and doors from old churches, convents, and manor houses. You might want to check Mermaid Isle out. It's presently for sale. After the sale, we'll be returning to Marin.:
