WHat wonderful views. I love the acres of smooth stones. My mother used to collect and decorate with river stones, and they have always appealed to me.

Isn't that short story about abortion?
I love the title of the poem as it stands, and the whole dialogue, but then with the context of abortion thrown in there, it seems so bizarre...

The imagery in the first paragraph is so fitting of the photographs you've chosen. And here's how I would reconcile the rest of the story to the photographs:

Isn't it fascinating that such serene, beautiful landscapes can hold such dissonant occupants. Or rather, that humans can occupy such sad, subjective spaces, while being surrounded by such beauty. Or maybe still, it's simply a matter of framing - whether by wood, steel, concrete, or our words - we have the ability to participate in life and death, all in the same place at the same time. In the case of the poem, we can see "hills that look like white elephants" when we're on our way to get an abortion. Our most un-beautiful moments can often create the exact frame we need to experience the most beauty in life.

The work in the photographs look like a job well done in framing the landscapes.
