i really think that the documentary by the maysles brothers "grey gardens" was brilliant. i spoke to albert maysle when he was in montréal giving a master's class...about the re-make...especially since edie said, when asked who would play her later if a film was to be made...to which she answered: no one should play her but her. anyway, albert maysles acted as consultant on the film...but i guess i feel uncomfortable that a fiction film would be made...when a documentary already exists....and a strong one at that! i see the fiction film as unnecessary... nancy
