the cut out nature of this, defined lines and solid black, reminded me immediately of the work of kara walker. actually, before looking closely, and seeing the text, my mind immediately assumed it was. interesting to see more use of this.

I love watching her works ... she was a true pioneer. Some of her shorts are available on YouTube in their entirety and it is a lovely way to pass the time - the movement is mesmerizing.

one of the images of Achmed and the consorts of the princess has been my desktop for years. I only just watched the flim through Netflix recently and it was so lovely.
